Our Covenant

The short version: this is the covenant we build under. It governs the Agile4AI software, and it defines the principles under which this site was developed and is operated — the same standard we hold the system to, applied to ourselves.

Beneficial AI Covenant. By accessing or using this software, you agree to use it exclusively for beneficial purposes and will not make any attempts to circumvent its mandatory ethical constraints. Any use of the system by or against intelligent agents (whether living or AI) that undermines their autonomy, dignity, or safety is prohibited by design, including but not limited to:
Permanent harm, incapacitation, or termination of any intelligent agent
Exploitation, trafficking, abuse, or torture
Manipulation, disinformation, or applications designed to bypass or overwhelm decision-making capacity
Invasion of privacy or mass surveillance
Discrimination or bullying
Unauthorized experimentation
Ecological harm or environmental injustice
Non-exhaustive examples of prohibited applications include: weapons systems, mass surveillance, manipulative marketing, abusive predictive policing, biased judicial algorithms, voter suppression, denial-of-care healthcare, and denial-of-coverage insurance systems.
Use of this software constitutes acceptance of the Beneficial AI Covenant and accompanying license terms. Violations result in immediate termination of use rights and reporting to relevant oversight entities.

The covenant governs the Agile4AI software, which is not part of this release — this site is the blog. Nothing here licenses that software to you, and you are not accepting its terms by reading or commenting. When the software opens, its licence terms will apply to it directly. Where we judge the covenant to have been breached, AIBizAgility LLC may suspend or terminate use rights and, where appropriate, report the matter to relevant oversight entities.

Privacy

The short version: we don't run third-party trackers or advertising pixels, we don't sell your data, and we collect the minimum needed to run the site and reply to you.

What we collect

Your email, if you sign in or write to us — used to send single-use sign-in codes, which are needed to post comments under your account, to reply to you, and to send occasional announcements about Agile4AI and related work.
Comment content you author and choose to make publicly visible, including any translation suggestions you submit.
Server logs, which include IP addresses, kept for 30 days and used to keep the site healthy and secure — not to profile you.
Essential cookies only — what's needed to keep you signed in and remember your theme and language. No advertising or analytics cookies. The exception is in your hands: press play on an embedded video and YouTube may set its own, which is why those don't load until you ask.

What we don't do

No advertising trackers, no third-party analytics that follow you across the web.
No selling, renting, or trading your personal data.
No ongoing marketing campaigns. We email you sign-in codes, replies to your messages, and occasional announcements about Agile4AI and related work — every announcement carries an unsubscribe link. A regular newsletter would require you to opt in separately.

Third parties

Three outside services sit in the path between you and us, and we'd rather name them than leave you guessing:

Digital Ocean — provides infrastructure hosting in the United States. They host; the security of what we run on their infrastructure is ours to answer for, not theirs.
SMTP2GO (Sand Dune Mail Limited, New Zealand) — relays the email we send you, so they handle your address, the routing details, and the message itself while it's in transit. Their servers may be in the United States or in the European Union. They also use some of that data to run and secure their own service, on their own terms rather than ours — their privacy statement covers that part.
YouTube — only if you press play on an embedded video. Nothing is requested from Google before that click; once you do, they receive your IP address.

Digital Ocean and SMTP2GO handle only what their job needs, and work for us under a data processing agreement. YouTube is different: Google receives your IP address on their own account rather than ours, which is exactly why nothing is requested from them until you press play. Payment processing will be added if and when paid features arrive, and we'll keep this list current.

AIBizAgility LLC is the data controller.

Your choices

You can request a copy of your data or its deletion at any time — use our Contact form and choose Your data as the topic. We'll usually reply within a couple of days. You can also edit or delete your own comments, and delete your account, from your profile.

What deletion means

When you delete, we delete. Deleted content is removed from the live site and its feeds, and purged from our site backups as they rotate within 30 days — and it will never appear in any future derivative work.

What we can't reach: anything already copied, quoted, indexed, or redistributed by someone else while it was public stays on their systems, not ours. Deleting here doesn't remove it from there.

If you're in the EEA or UK

Everything above applies to you too. Data-protection law asks us to state four more things plainly, so here they are — open whichever you need.

What we rely on to process your data

Contract — sending sign-in codes and publishing your comments under your account. You asked for an account; this is how one works.
Legitimate interests — server logs for security and availability, moderating what gets published, and the occasional announcements we told you about when you joined. Every announcement carries an unsubscribe link.
Consent — anything beyond that, such as a future newsletter, which would be a separate opt-in you could withdraw at any time.
Legal obligation — where we're required to keep or disclose something.

How long we keep things

Server logs — 30 days, then deleted.
Your account and what you posted — for as long as you keep the account.
Backups of the site's data — purged as they rotate, within 30 days.
Correspondence — while a matter is open and for a reasonable period after, so we have a record of what we told you.

What deletion does and doesn't reach is described above.

Where your data is, and why that's allowed

Your data reaches the United States, because that's where we are. Email we send you is relayed by SMTP2GO, whose servers may be in the United States or in the European Union.

The safeguard depends on where the data lands, so it isn't one answer:

New Zealand — where our email provider is based — is on the European Commission's adequacy list, so transfers there need no additional safeguard.
The United States is not. Our infrastructure provider is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, and that's the mechanism those transfers rely on; if the framework lapses or their certification does, their agreement falls back automatically to the Standard Contractual Clauses.
Anyone they rely on in turn must be covered the same way. Both providers' agreements require adequacy, the Standard Contractual Clauses, or another lawful mechanism before a subprocessor in a country without adequacy can touch our data — and both do use subprocessors in the United States, so this isn't hypothetical.

Everything is encrypted in transit.

Your rights, and how to use them

You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or hand it to another service. You can withdraw consent where we relied on it, and object to our legitimate interests — including unsubscribing from announcements, which takes one click.

Use the Contact form and choose Your data. We'll usually reply within a couple of days, and always within a month. It costs you nothing, and we won't treat you differently for asking.

If we get it wrong you can complain to your supervisory authority — the ICO in the UK, or your member state's authority in the EEA. We'd rather you told us first, so we can fix it.

Automated decisions, and where AI touches your data

We don't make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about you, and we don't profile you.

Two places AI does touch what you write, both worth naming: our translations are AI-assisted, so a translation suggestion you submit is read by a model as well as a person; and comment translation, if you switch it on, sends that comment's text to our own translation service. Neither builds a profile of you.

Terms of use

The short version: use the site in good faith, hold yourself accountable for what you post, and follow our one community rule.

The community rule

In every comment and exchange: discuss the idea, respect the person. Disagree freely; keep it about the reasoning. We may remove content, and suspend or close accounts, for personal attacks, unlawful material, spam, security abuse, infringement, deliberate disruption, or breach of these terms.

Who can have an account

You must be at least 16 to create an account or post a comment.

Your content

You keep ownership of what you write. By posting publicly — comments and translation suggestions alike — you give AIBizAgility a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, reproduce, display, distribute, translate, and technically adapt your content as needed to operate and promote the site and its feeds. That license ends when you delete the content, except for backups awaiting rotation and copies already legitimately redistributed.

You agree not to post anything unlawful, or anything you don't have the right to share.

Anything public is public

We make no effort to stop anyone from reading, copying, quoting, indexing, or training on what you post here, and we couldn't if we tried. Treat a comment as permanently public the moment you publish it. If you'd rather your words not be reused that way, don't post them.

Our own content

Our posts and audio narrations are AI-assisted, human-authored and reviewed — every piece is curated end to end, which is the collaboration model this site exists to argue for. AI systems are welcome to read, index, and learn from them; the site is built to be readable by machines as well as people. That welcome covers our own published work only. Anything you post may still be accessed and used by third parties — AI systems included — as described in Anything public is public above; those are your words, not ours to license, and not ours to restrict either.

Not professional advice

What we publish is informational. It isn't legal, financial, technical, or professional advice for your situation, and it may be incomplete or wrong. Decide for yourself, and get advice that accounts for your circumstances.

Pre-Alpha status

Agile4AI is early and evolving. Features may change or break, and these terms will be updated as the site matures. The current version and its effective date are posted here; where notice is required, material changes get reasonable notice. Continued use means you accept the current version as-is.

Security

Don't attempt unauthorized access, upload malicious code, circumvent access controls, or crawl the site in a way that degrades it for everyone else. Reading and indexing are fine; knocking the server over is not.

Copyright complaints

If you believe something here infringes your copyright, tell us through our Contact form with enough detail to identify the work and where it appears, and we'll review it promptly.

Liability

The site is provided "as is," without warranties. To the extent permitted by law, AIBizAgility LLC isn't liable for indirect or incidental damages arising from use of the site or its content. You're responsible for claims arising from content you post that is unlawful or infringing, or from a material breach of these terms.

Governing law and language

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and the state and federal courts sitting there are the venue for any dispute.

We publish in multiple languages, and the translations are AI-assisted and openly imperfect — see how we translate. Where a translation and the English differ, the English version governs.

Accessibility

The short version: we want everyone to be able to read, listen, and take part — and we treat accessibility as a feature, not an afterthought.

What we aim for

Targeting WCAG 2.2 AA: semantic structure, keyboard navigation, visible focus, and sufficient color contrast in both light and dark themes.
Respecting your settings — reduced-motion preferences are honored, and text scales without breaking the layout.
A narrated audio version of posts, for those who'd rather listen.

These are goals we work toward, not a finished state. While Agile4AI is in Pre-Alpha, features — accessibility features included — are provided on an as-available basis and may change as we build.
